The Birth of the Internet
In the late 1960s, the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) laid the foundation for the modern Internet. Initially funded by the Defense Department of the United States, it was the first network to implement the TCP/IP suite of protocols.
ARPANET began as a modest project, launching on October 29, 1969, to connect four university computers. These were located at UCLA, Stanford, UC Santa Barbara, and the University of Utah.
🌎 This revolutionary network came at a time of great innovation and became the architecture upon which today's Internet is built, connecting millions globally.
