The Lifecycle of a Tadpole
Tadpoles, also known as polliwogs, are the larval stage in the life cycle of a frog. For a typical frog, life begins in the water as an egg. After hatching, the little tadpole will begin its incredible journey towards frogdom.
During the early weeks, tadpoles breathe through gills and gradually develop lungs. After about 6-9 weeks from hatching, they start to form tiny legs. Watch out for the delightful moment when their tails shrink as they start to look more and more like little frogs!
