Bhupen Hazarika (1926 – 2011) was an Indian playback singer, lyricist, musician, poet, and film-maker from Assam. He is best known for his soulful songs written and sung mainly in the Assamese language. 🎵

Known as the 'Bard of Brahmaputra', he was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. Hazarika's music is acclaimed for its poetic and philosophical themes, often focusing on themes of humanity and universal brotherhood.
