About Henri Matisse
Henri Matisse (1869–1954) was a revolutionary French artist, known for his use of vibrant colors and dramatic yet simple lines. He was a leading figure in the Fauvist movement and is celebrated for works such as The Dance and Woman with a Hat.
Even in his later years, his work continued to embody boundless creativity and boldness. Matisse’s cut-outs are an outstanding example of his innovative approach to art, produced while he was confined to his bed in his final years.
