About John Coltrane
John Coltrane, also known as "Trane", was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. Born on September 23, 1926, in Hamlet, North Carolina, Coltrane pioneered the use of modes in jazz and was at the forefront of the free jazz movement.
His prolific career led to the creation of many classic recordings, including A Love Supreme, Blue Train, and Giant Steps.
