About the Temple of Heaven
The Temple of Heaven, an imperial complex of religious buildings, is located in the southeastern part of central Beijing. It was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. Built from 1406 to 1420, it is an UNESCO World Heritage Site standing as a testament to Chinese architectural majesty.
