About Mark Twain

Mark Twain, born Samuel Langhorne Clemens, was an American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. Dubbed "the father of American literature" by William Faulkner, Twain's notable works include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the latter often called "The Great American Novel." 🌟

Twain was born in Florida, Missouri, on November 30, 1835. He became a riverboat pilot on the Mississippi River before embarking on his writing career.
