The Maestro of Classical Music
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827) was a German composer and pianist. A crucial figure in the transition between the Classical and Romantic eras in Western music, he is often regarded as one of the greatest musical geniuses. Beethoven's compositions include 9 symphonies, 5 piano concertos, 32 piano sonatas, and 16 string quartets.
Despite health challenges like his progressive hearing loss, he produced acclaimed works throughout his life. Symphonies like the Eroica, Fifth, and Ninth have left an enduring legacy.
Beethoven was known for his intense and eccentric personality. Legend has it that during one of his performances, he continued conducting even after the music had actually stopped, as he had become completely deaf.
