Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of warm water
- 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 packet of dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 cup of tomato sauce
- 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the water, yeast, and olive oil. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Add the flour and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- Place it in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough and place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread tomato sauce over the dough, then add mozzarella slices and basil leaves.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let cool, slice, and serve. Enjoy!
