The Mightiest Dinosaur of the Late Cretaceous Period!
The Tyrannosaurus rex, affectionately known as T. rex, is perhaps the most famous dinosaur ever. It lived approximately 68 to 66 million years ago during the late Cretaceous Period.
With a massive skull balanced by a long, heavy tail, T. rex was one of the largest land carnivores of all time, reaching up to 40 feet in length and weighing as much as 9 tons.
Its name means "tyrant lizard king," fitting its reputation as a top predator. Interestingly, recent studies suggest T. rex might have been a social creature rather than a solitary hunter!
