What is DNA Sequencing?
DNA sequencing is the process of determining the nucleic acid sequence – the order of nucleotides in DNA. It includes any method or technology that is used to determine the order of the four bases: adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine.
Since the advent of DNA sequencing in the late 20th century, the rapid speed of sequencing attained with modern DNA sequencing technology has been instrumental in the revolutionary changes brought by sequencing, particularly with the Human Genome Project.
