About the Nile Crocodile
The Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) is a large crocodilian native to freshwater habitats in Africa, where it is present in 26 countries. It is considered very dangerous to humans and is the largest freshwater predator in Africa. The reptile's population is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands!
Nile crocodiles are carnivorous, and their diet mainly consists of fish, but they will also prey on birds, reptiles, antelopes, and sometimes even larger animals if the opportunity arises.
