🌟 Sirius, the Brightest Star in the Night Sky

Sirius, also known as the Dog Star, is the brightest star in the Earth's night sky. Its name is derived from the Greek word, "Seirios," which means glowing or scorching. Located in the constellation Canis Major, Sirius is about 8.6 light years away from Earth.

Its apparent magnitude is -1.46, making it almost twice as bright as the next brightest star, Canopus. Sirius is actually a binary star system, consisting of Sirius A, a bright main-sequence star, and a faint white dwarf companion, Sirius B.
