Keep Your Cactus Cozy and Healthy
Winter is coming, but that doesn't mean your cactus has to shiver! Follow these tips to keep your little desert friend thriving:
- Reduce Watering: Water sparingly during the winter months. Cacti are dormant and require less hydration.
- Temperature Control: Keep your cactus away from drafty windows and cold chills. Ideal temperatures range between 50-60°F (10-15°C).
- Light: Ensure your cactus gets enough light, but avoid placing it in direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Fertilizing: Hold off on fertilizing until spring; your cactus doesn't need extra nutrients in dormancy.
- Check for Pests: Keep an eye out for common pests like spider mites. Remove any that appear with a damp cloth.
