Introduction to Sensors
Sensors are devices that detect changes in the environment and send the information to other electronics, often a computer processor. Types include:
1. Proximity Sensors
Used in smartphones and automotive parking assistance, they detect nearby objects without any physical contact.
2. Temperature Sensors
Measure heat to ensure that a process stays within a specific range. Commonly used in HVAC systems.
3. Light Sensors
These help in automatic brightness adjustment and can be found in smartphones, backlighting systems, and solar panels.
4. Pressure Sensors
Employed in weather forecasting and automobile systems, they measure the pressure of gases or liquids.
