Ion Thrusters

Ion thrusters are a form of electric propulsion used primarily for spacecraft. They operate by accelerating ions with electricity, creating a much higher efficiency compared to traditional chemical rockets. 🚀✨

These thrusters work by ionizing a propellant (usually Xenon) and using an electric field to accelerate the ions out of the engine, producing thrust. Given the low thrust levels but high efficiency, they are ideal for lengthy missions.
