The Squeeze Theorem
The Squeeze Theorem (also known as the Sandwich Theorem) is a fundamental concept in calculus that allows us to find the limit of a function by comparing it to two other functions.
Formally, if g(x) ≤ f(x) ≤ h(x) for all x in some interval, and:
- The limit of g(x) as x approaches a is L
- The limit of h(x) as x approaches a is L
Then, the limit of f(x) as x approaches a is also L.
Imagine your favorite froge jumping closer and closer between two bound bushes until they meet at the same point. That's the Squeeze Theorem in action!
