🟢 What Makes Red-Eyed Tree Frogs So Special?

The Red-Eyed Tree Frog, native to Central America, is renowned for its bright green body, striking blue and yellow vertical stripes, and, of course, its vivid red eyes. More than just a pretty face, their eyes serve as a clever defense mechanism called startle coloration! When a predator approaches, the frog will flash its big, red eyes, hoping to startle the predator just long enough to leap to safety.
