Introduction to Probability with Froge
Welcome to the froge-themed adventure into the world of probability! 🐸 Calculating probability can be both fun and insightful, especially when you're guided by our friendly froges.
What is Probability?
Probability is the measure of the likelihood that an event will occur. It quantifies as a number between 0 and 1, where, loosely speaking, 0 indicates impossibility and 1 indicates certainty. Make sure you calculate the odds before you leap into the pond!
Basic Terms
- Experiment: A situation involving chance or probability that leads to results called outcomes.
- Outcome: A possible result of a probability experiment.
- Event: A single outcome or a group of outcomes.
- Probability: The chance that a given event will occur.
Relative Vs. Absolute Probability
Froges sometimes measure probabilities by comparing them to similar events in their own lives—this is relative probability. Whereas the absolute probability of a froge jumping on a log in a singular leap is determined mathematically by past froge jumps alone!
