The Candidates Tournament is an elite chess competition that determines who will challenge the reigning World Chess Champion. It is a critical step towards earning the title of World Chess Champion.
The Candidates has a rich history, dating back to the mid-20th century. Throughout the years, it has been the stage for legendary players to showcase their strategic prowess and elevate their status in the world of chess.
The tournament currently features eight players in a double round-robin format, where each player competes against every other participant twice.
