Welcome to the Hawa Mahal 🌸

Your gateway to the historical marvel of Jaipur, the Palace of Winds!

Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of Winds, is an iconic symbol of Jaipur and a remarkable architectural feat. Constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, this five-storey palace was designed by Lal Chand Ustad. Its unique design, resembling the crown of Krishna, features 953 small windows, known as 'jharokhas', adorned with intricate latticework.

This was made to allow royal ladies to observe street festivities unseen, maintaining the Purdah system. The cooling effect created by the wind blowing through the jharokhas gave the palace its name.
