Key Terms

Firewall: A network security system that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.
Encryption: The process of converting information or data into a code, especially to prevent unauthorized access.
Malware: Software that is specifically designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to a computer system.
Phishing: The fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information by disguising oneself as a trustworthy entity in electronic communication.
Ransomware: A type of malicious software designed to block access to a computer system until a sum of money is paid.
