About Lake Baikal

Lake Baikal is located in Siberia, Russia, and is known to be the deepest and oldest freshwater lake in the world, with depths reaching 1,642 meters (5,387 feet) and an estimated age of 25 million years. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site, boasting unparalleled biodiversity.

The lake is home to more than 3,700 species of plants and animals, two-thirds of which can be found nowhere else in the world. The endemic Baikal seal is one such unique species, an aquatic mammal that enchants visitors with its playful demeanor.
