The Golden Pavilion
Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion, is a Zen Buddhist temple located in Kyoto, Japan. Its top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. The temple is set amidst beautiful gardens that reflect Japan's peace and tranquility. ✨
The official name of the temple is Rokuon-ji, which means "Deer Garden Temple." It was originally constructed in 1397 as a retirement villa for Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu.
