Stages of Development
Frogs undergo a remarkable transformation from a single cell to a fully grown adult froge. This cycle includes several distinct stages:
- Egg Stage: Frogs lay a multitude of eggs, usually in water.
- Tadpole or Larval Stage: Upon hatching, the tadpoles use gills to breathe in water. This stage is critical for growth and development.
- Metamorphosis: This is the magical transition where tadpoles develop legs, lungs replace gills, and their tail is absorbed for nutrients.
- Adult Froge: Now fully grown, the frog ventures onto land, continuing its journey in both water and terrestrial habitats.
