The Show That Rocked the World
On July 13, 1985, the world came together to witness one of the most iconic live music events ever held: Live Aid. Organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, this dual-venue benefit concert was staged simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom, and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, USA.
The goal was to raise funds for the famine relief effort in Ethiopia, and the event certainly delivered, raising over $125 million. The lineup included legendary performances by Queen, U2, David Bowie, and many more.
