Located in the Mahalangur Himal sub-range of the Himalayas, Everest straddles the border between Nepal and the autonomous region of Tibet. 🗺️

Fact 3: Names

In Nepal, the mountain is called Sagarmatha (सगरमाथा), while in Tibetan it’s known as Chomolungma (ཇོ་མོ་གླང་མ). 🌌

Fact 4: First Ascent

Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay were the first to reach the summit on May 29, 1953. ⛰️
