About Thyagaraja
Thyagaraja (1767 – 1847) was a renowned composer of Carnatic music, a system of music commonly associated with the southern part of India. He was a prolific composer and highly revered in the world of Indian classical music. Thyagaraja is credited with composing thousands of devotional songs, most of which are in praise of Lord Rama.
His compositions are noted for their spirituality, lyrical beauty, and melodic brilliance. Some of the well-known compositions include "Nadha Sudha Rasa" and "Jagadananda Karaka".
