An Overview
Composed in 1749, George Frideric Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks was created for the fireworks display in London's Green Park on April 27 of the same year. Commissioned by King George II, this work is a celebration of the end of the War of the Austrian Succession. It is known for its brilliant and festive character.
