About the Symphony

Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, also known as the "Choral" Symphony, is one of the most celebrated works in the Western classical repertoire. Completed in 1824, it was the composer's final complete symphony. The Symphony No. 9 was the first example of a major composer using voices in a symphony, and it includes the famous "Ode to Joy" in its final movement.
