Lost among the peaks of the Himalayas, Shangri-La is a mystical, harmonious valley described in the novel "Lost Horizon" by British author James Hilton. It has become synonymous with any earthly paradise but particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia – a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world.
Believers often think that Shangri-La is a place of lasting peace, a region that knows neither war nor suffering. Yet, is it merely a fable, or could such a place truly exist?
