Athena is one of the most revered deities in Greek mythology. Known as the goddess of wisdom, handicraft, and warfare, she was a daughter of Zeus and was unique for being born fully armed from his forehead. Athena is often associated with the city of Athens, which was named in her honor after she gifted its people the olive tree in a contest against Poseidon.
