Composting Techniques

1. Vermicomposting

Vermicomposting uses worms, typically red wigglers, to turn organic waste into high-quality compost. It's perfect for indoor composting and doesn't require much space.

2. Bokashi Composting

This anaerobic fermentation process involves a bran mixture covered in beneficial microbes to break down food scraps quickly, even meat and dairy!

3. Hot Composting

An efficient method where nitrogen and carbon-rich materials are layered to maintain a temperature of 130-160°F, resulting in compost in just a few weeks.

4. Cold Composting

A passive method requiring minimal effort, where organic material is allowed to decompose over time, usually within a year or two.
