  1. Rinse rice and urad dal separately under cold running water.
  2. Soak rice and fenugreek seeds together and urad dal in a separate bowl for 4 to 6 hours.
  3. Grind urad dal into a smooth, fluffy batter using minimal water.
  4. Grind the rice and fenugreek mixture to a slightly coarser consistency. Combine with urad dal batter.
  5. Cover the batter and let it ferment overnight or until it doubles in volume.
  6. Add salt and stir the batter gently.
  7. Grease idli molds and pour the batter into the molds.
  8. Steam the idlis for about 10-12 minutes until they are soft and cooked through.
  9. Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar. Enjoy your delicious homemade Idlis! 😋
