Sushi Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup sushi rice
- 2 cups water
- 3 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Nori sheets
- Avocado, sliced
- Cucumber, julienne
- Fresh fish (salmon or tuna), sliced thin
Instructions
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Combine rice and water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to low and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
- Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl. Pour over the warm rice and mix well.
- Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread sushi rice over the nori, leaving a border at the top edge.
- Layer avocado, cucumber, and fish on the rice.
- Roll the sushi tight with the help of the mat. Slice into rounds with a sharp knife dipped in water.
