What is a Logarithm?
A logarithm is the power to which a number must be raised to obtain another number. For example, the logarithm base 10 of 100 is 2, because 10 raised to the power of 2 is 100.
Useful Logarithm Rules:
- Product Rule: logb(xy) = logb(x) + logb(y)
- Quotient Rule: logb(x/y) = logb(x) - logb(y)
- Power Rule: logb(xy) = y * logb(x)
