Understanding Protein Synthesis 🧬

Protein synthesis is a fundamental biological process that allows cells to produce proteins, enabling the functioning, growth, and reproduction of organisms. The process occurs in two main stages: transcription and translation.

Transcription 📝

Transcription is the first step where the DNA sequence of a gene is copied into RNA. This happens in the cell nucleus. The RNA strand (messenger RNA or mRNA) then carries the genetic information to the ribosome, the site of protein synthesis.

Translation 🌐

The next stage, translation, occurs at the ribosome. Here, the mRNA interacts with transfer RNA (tRNA) to decode the genetic sequence into a specific sequence of amino acids, thus forming a polypeptide or protein.
