Glossary Terms
- Capsid: The protein shell of a virus, enclosing its genetic material.
- Genome: The complete set of genetic material in an organism or virus.
- Pathogen: An organism that causes disease in its host.
- Antigen: A substance that induces an immune response, especially the production of antibodies.
- Host: An organism that harbors a virus, often being harmed by the interaction.
- Replication: The process by which a virus makes copies of itself within a host organism.
- Virion: A single, complete virus particle outside of a host cell.
