Understanding Nonrenewable Resources
Nonrenewable resources are resources that do not replenish at a sufficient rate for sustainable economic extraction. They include fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, as well as minerals like gold and silver.
These resources are formed over millions of years through complex geological processes. Once depleted, they cannot be replaced on a human timescale, which makes their sustainable management critical.
