The Mysteries of Sand Dunes 🌵

Understanding Sand Dunes

Sand dunes are fascinating natural structures formed by the wind's movement of loose sand. These captivating landscapes can be found in deserts, on beaches, and near large bodies of water across the globe.

Wind shapes the dunes by causing sand grains to hop and roll along the ground, a process called saltation. Over time, this movement forms differently shaped dunes such as crescentic, linear, and star dunes.

These formations are not only beautiful but also serve as natural barriers to the sea, protecting inland wildlife and vegetation. 🌿
