Understanding Squares
A square is a regular quadrilateral, which means that it has four equal sides and four equal angles (90-degree angles, or right angles). Squares are everywhere! You can find them in floors, tiles, or even froge ponds!

Squares are special types of rectangles and rhombuses.
Math Fun with Squares
The area of a square is found by squaring the length of one of its sides: Area = side × side.
The perimeter of a square is the total length around the square, calculated as: Perimeter = 4 × side.
