🪐 Saturn: The Ringed Giant

Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second-largest in our solar system, known for its stunning ring system. These rings are composed mostly of ice particles with a smaller amount of rocky debris and dust. Saturn is a gas giant made up largely of hydrogen and helium.

With a radius approximately nine times that of Earth, Saturn has a large number of moons—82 known moons to date. The largest moon, Titan, is larger than the planet Mercury and is shrouded in a thick atmosphere.

Exploring Saturn is important for understanding the complexities of our solar system. Both ground and space-based observations continue to uncover the mysteries of this gas giant.
