What are Nebulae?
Nebulae are vast clouds of dust and gas in space, often being the birthplace of stars! Some of them shine brightly and are easily visible from Earth, while others are dark and obscure. 🌠
Fascinatingly, the colors of a nebula are a direct result of the gases they contain. Hydrogen gives a red hue, while oxygen adds blue-green tones. Stunning, isn't it?
Types of Nebulae
- Emission Nebulae: These glow brightly due to ionized gases.
- Reflection Nebulae: These reflect the light of nearby stars.
- Dark Nebulae: Dense clouds that obscure the light behind them.
- Planetary Nebulae: Created from the remnants of an old star.
