Long ago, in a kingdom far away, there lived a princess who loved to play with her golden ball by the garden pond. One day, as she tossed the ball high into the air, it slipped through her fingers and splashed into the pond's depths.
The princess cried out in despair, "Oh, my precious ball!" To her surprise, a voice croaked from the water, "Why do you weep, princess?" It was a frog, his eyes sparkling like two glistening emeralds.
Before we continue, explore more stories and parts:
The little frog proposed a deal: if he retrieved her ball, she must promise to let him eat from her plate and sleep on her silken pillow. Though her heart shuddered at the thought, the princess agreed, thinking a simple frog could not possibly follow her back to the castle.
With a delighted croak, the frog dived deep beneath the water. After a few moments, he reappeared with the golden ball clutched in his mouth.
The princess, overjoyed, grabbed the ball and dashed back to her castle, leaving the frog to call after her, "Remember your promise, princess!"
Will the princess honor her word? Stay tuned for more in the next part!
