Voyager Mission: Journey Through the Stars 🌌
The Voyager spacecraft, launched by NASA in 1977, are twin space probes continuing to explore the outer bounds of our solar system and beyond. Originally designed to study the outer planets, they have returned invaluable data about the gas giants and their moons.
A Timeless Adventure
Both Voyager spacecraft carry a Golden Record, a phonograph message to any extraterrestrial civilization that might encounter them in the far future. Containing sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, it's a message in a bottle from humanity to the cosmos.
- Voyager 1 is currently over 14 billion miles from Earth, traveling in interstellar space.
- Voyager 2, while slightly behind, is also charting the unknown regions beyond our stars.
