Overview
The Tyrannosaurus Rex, or T. rex, is perhaps the most well-known dinosaur. It lived about 68 to 66 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period.
Size and Appearance
T. rex was an enormous predator, reaching lengths of up to 40 feet (12 meters) and weighing around 9 tons. It possessed a massive skull balanced by a long, heavy tail. Its two powerful hind legs allowed it to move quickly despite its size.
Diet
As a carnivorous dinosaur, the Tyrannosaurus Rex had a ferocious appetite, preying on large herbivores such as Edmontosaurus and Triceratops. Its teeth were sharp and serrated, ideal for tearing through flesh.
